Bypass the Zen Cart Checkout Shipping When Shipping is Free

Streamlining your checkout procedure is good practice when it comes to customer conversion. The less steps you have in your checkout process, the more likely it is that your customers will make it all the way through from start to finish. If you sell all or some products that are marked as free shipping, don’t make your customers complete the shipping step of the checkout. This step by step tutorial will show you how to set your products with free shipping designated so that the shipping step in the checkout process is skipped.

Help! My Payment Methods Aren’t Showing at Checkout

If during the checkout process your payment methods are not showing, there are a few things you need to check.

1. Log into your zen cart admin and go to Modules -> Payment:

Double check to be sure that your payment methods are installed. In the “Order Status” column, modules that are installed will have a “green” dot, modules that are not installed will have a “red” dot. If your payment modules of choice are not installed, click on the “install” button and follow the installation instructions.

2. Check to see that your payment modules are enabled. Click on your payment module and check that the line “Enable XXXX Order Module” is set to “true”. If it is set to “false” click on the “edit” button and set it to “true”.

3. Do you have any Zones set with this payment module? If you do then remove the Zone to allow you to use it during checkout.

To properly configure zones with payment modules you must create zones that match your customers’ shipping addresses. Always have at least one payment method that does not have any zones added to it, or there will be customers who will not be able to complete the checkout process.
