Ebay Auction Template Instructions
**********It is a good idea to save your .txt file often during the editing process. I would recommend saving it after each edit, and making a backup copy before you begin to edit.*****
1. Open the file with your auction template (it will be a .txt file) in Notepad. Do not use a word processor or a wyswig editor (frontpage or dreamweaver) as these programs will corrupt the template code and break the template.
2. Be sure to never change any of the html tags as it will effect the appearance of the template. Html tags are located throughout the document inside of the carets <>. Only edit the lines that are specified in the instructions.
3. The lines of the template that you will be editing will always be after a line that looks like this:
***************THE TEXT FOR THE TITLE OF YOUR AUCTION GOES ON THE NEXT LINE*********************
4. Upload your product photos to your image hosting site. If you do not have a site, the following sites offer free image hosting:
www.photobucket.com
www.freeimagehosting.net
www.picvault.info
http://imageshack.us
http://tinypic.com
Ebay's recommended maximum picture size is 400 x 300 pixels. Larger pictures will significantly cut down on the number of buyers who can view your listing. If your photos are larger than the recommended 400 x 300 pixels, you will resize them before you put them into the template. Photobucket.com has a resizing tool available in your account under my albums, edit images, resize.
If your image host is other than photobucket and does not have a facility to resize your pictures, you can find a free resizing tool here:
